We have been looking forward to try out the new 2010 Lexus RX, since we have such good experiences with the previous generation, in both normal and hybrid guise. The 2010 Lexus RX did not dissapoint. It again is a very high quality built vehicle, with superb fit and finsih. It performs very well, is quiet, and seems to have no problem at all with any circumstances thrown at it.

The interior design was very neicly executed of vourse, again with excellent fit and finish, and a design theme that was both inviting and provided excellent ergonomics for safe vehicle operations. The exterior design was slightly more overdone than in previous generations, where it is clear where the designers wanted to go as the end goal of this exercise, but it did seem that too many individual designers were trying to achieve their individual interpretations of the same goal on separate parts of the car.

The result, in our eyes, is a design that seems overtly done, one with very interesting design details, but the details don’t all harmonize with one another, and as such do not enhance the design, but rather distract from the overall design theme that was aimed for. What it needed would be for 1 design leader to be in charge to safeguard the various interpretations of the total design theme, and to oversee harmonizing individual good ideas into a harmonious blend of a total package.
