2013 Hyundai Santa Fe

The new Santa Fe has been updated with Hyundai’s “fluidic sculpture” design language in a theme called storm edge which they claim captures the imagery created by nature during the formation of a storm.  They do not make clear which natural weather phenomena create the three bar front grille or plastic lower body cladding, but the slash of light accenting the top of the headlight housing and the bulge on the rear quarter panel that sweeps over the taillight have a nice flowing quality about them.  The front end gets the new Hyundai grille that debuted previously on the refreshed Genesis coupe, a bottom heavy hexagon. It lends an aggressive frontal appearance to an otherwise conservative overall design compared to Hyundai’s more extreme recent offerings.
